Thrown Into Training

and found my calling

The Author

I’m Angela Risner, a seasoned trainer with fifteen years of experience.   I absolutely love what I do and I’m eager to share my experiences  as a trainer.

I was “thrown into training” in my first job after graduating from college.  I never saw myself as a teacher – in fact, my undergrad degree was in vocal performance and my intention was to be an opera singer.  However, others felt that I was good at explaining things.

I did training as a side part to my regular positions at two different companies for 6 years, then officially was given the title of Training Manager in 2001.  I have not had any formal education in training – I was a subject-matter expert who happened to relate well to people.

In addition to my undergrad degree, I have completed 65 hours of law school.  This gives me a unique combination of skills.

Even though this career chose me, I now love it and am always looking to learn more and improve my skill-set.
